Is you are on vacation or on a business trip, expat or local and don’t know much about Timisoara, then this tour is the best way to get acquainted with the city and spend a nice two hours exploring the central part and its main attractions.
We introduce you to Timisoara’s history in European context and to the more recent events that left its marks on the city and the country, namely the 1989 anti-communist Revolution. We walk through the central part of the city: Victory, Liberty and Union squares and discover impressive Art Nouveau and Baroque architectural ensembles, the Turkish and Habsburg legacy, the bustling cultural and social life concentrated in this area, all spiced up by inside stories about local folks and places.
At the end of the tour, you’ll probably say to the city, like to a newly made friend “Timisoara, it’s nice to meet you”
The tour takes about 2 hours.
Starting point: Victory square, in front of the Orthodox Cathedral / pick up at the hotel / we can agree upon the meeting place
Ending point: Bastion, the old city walls
Note: If you already took a 2 hour tour with us or you are familiar with the center of Timisoara, we also organize 2 hour tours in the other historical quarters of Timisoara: Iosefin, Elisabetin or Fabric. These are more quiet neighborhoods, further away from the center, off the usual tourist path, which hold many surprises to be discovered.
